They are on track to double their delivery to 10-million orders per day by the end of 2021. They are continually expanding their business in all areas, reporting a 400% YoY growth of quick commerce orders in Q1 2021 alone!

One of their fastest-growing teams is Logistics. Logistics, where the client owns the entire delivery path, encompasses a range of departments to include Customer, Workforce, Rider Transmission, Optimization and Vendor. Within these departments/logistics categories, our client is seeking both Engineering Managers and Senior Engineering Managers to lead their internal cross-functional teams of developers and engineers. Our client has a penchant for strong leaders that can manage, coach and grow their technology teams while being technically current. While all management roles revolve primarily around leadership, being technically proficient in this type of environment is paramount.

We are looking for Engineering Managers in Logistics Optimization (f/m/d) to join our Logistics team to help us create a fast, reliable and transparent delivery experience. You will be working with our software and infrastructure engineers in optimizing the way our production services handle large amounts of data generated in the journey that connects our riders and vendors to millions of customers every day. Engineering Manager/Senior Engineering Manager (f/m/d) to join the Logistics - Customer team to help create a fast and reliable service that will be used by their platforms all around the world. You will be developing services and algorithms that will calculate optimal prices for delivering goods to millions of customers every day when they load their page. 2- Logistics: Workforce

In the above roles your mission would be defined along the following lines:

  • Support and grow a team of engineers in their day to day development experience, their personal development, and long term career growth.
  • Work closely with other teams, communicate solutions with technical and non-technical stakeholders and solve challenges.
  • Be responsible for a set of applications completely owned by the team. Teams are given a great deal of autonomy in technical decisions and you would be expected to leverage the team’s skills and knowledge, but also to bring in your experience and insights.
  • Develop and continuously improve the stability and scalability of our client’s services. The applications you will own are deployed globally on many brands that belong to our client so you will work with a tech stack running 24/7. Fortunately, you will come to a stable environment, but it is a progressive process that all engineers take care of.
  • Our client is heavily invested in automation and DevOps practices. So modern software and agile development practices such as continuous delivery and integration will be part of your days.
  • Participate in architecture and code reviews and application debugging and analysis.

Required core skills:

  • Leadership skills - an empathetic and respected leader.
  • 2-4 years of hands-on technical leadership and people management experience.
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field.
  • You are a pragmatic technical leader who understands what is needed to get things done.
  • Mentorship: You are capable of successfully transferring knowledge.
  • You are familiar with at least one modern programming language and its stack.
  • You are comfortable with microservices architecture, API-based and event-based communication and you have experience in designing and implementing large scale software systems following it.
  • Experience working with relational databases.
  • Experience working with cloud environments and managed services.
  • Curiosity, creative problem-solving skills and an eye for detail.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and stakeholders
  • Solid English communication skills.

Nice to have experience:

  • Experience with building and leading cross-functional teams
  • Tech leadership experience with remote teams
